A spinning pop rivet can be frustrating.
1. Drill – angle the drill bit against the side of the rivet head so friction doesn’t allow the rivet to spin.
2. Drill and screwdriver – Wedge a screwdriver between the rivet head and the surface to prevent it from spinning and drill through the middle to remove the rivet.
3. Drill and hacksaw blade – slid the blade between the 2 surfaces. Use the drill to spin the rivet against the blade to cut through the rivet.
4. Grinder – for the most stubborn rivets, grind off the rivet head, but may damage the surface.
