Kwikset Smart Key re-key lock in 15 seconds in the door

The Kwikset Smart Key allows you to re-key your locks in the door, or without a working key.

If re-keying the lock while still on the door, open the door and LEAVE IT OPEN. Then engage the lock before doing the following:

  1. Insert the old, working key into the lock and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise
  2. Insert and remove the reset tool. Then remove the old key
  3. Insert the new key, and turn 1/2 turn counter-clockwise

You’re finished, the lock is re-keyed
